Director Stephen Daldry to become Honored at Palm Springs Film Festival

Stephen Daldry is going to be honored as Director of the season for his focus on "Very Noisy & Incredibly Close" in the Palm Springs Worldwide Film Festival's Honours Gala on Jan. 7 in the Palm Springs Convention Center."Stephen Daldry has received worldwide acclaim like a director, getting his consummate skill to both cinema and stage," festival chairman Harold Matzner stated. "In the latest work, 'Extremely Noisy & Incredibly Close,' he directs a virtuoso cast within the story of the youthful boy who, after losing his father on 9/11, continues a mission to understand how much of an unusual key present in his father's possessions may unlock. This journey then turns into a metaphor for the necessity of a young child to keep a detailed bond with a family member who died tragically and too early.InchA 3 time Oscar nominee, Daldry also offers directed Billy Elliot, The Hrs and also the Readers.The festival itself runs Jan. 5-16.
